Impact & Outreach
I regularly contribute to public discourse through media interviews, the publication of policy briefs, and collaborations with civil society. I am an associate member of the Humboldt Governance Lab which develops evidence-based recommendations and evaluates policies for decision-makers in politics, public administration, and civil society.
Collaborations with Non-Academic Partners
As part of my post-doc, I have collaborated with environmental NGOs to investigate the changing dynamics of party competition around climate change and their implications for public opinion on green policies, using cross-national survey experiments in Germany, France, and Poland.
These collaborations have resulted in two publications:
Potenziale konservativer Narrative für den Klimaschutz
In collaboration with heimatwurzeln e.V. | Paper (in German)
Debunking the Backlash - Uncovering European Voters‘ Climate Preferences (with Tarik Abou-Chadi, Jannik Jansen and Nils Redeker)
In collaboration with Jacque Delors Centre | Paper & Data
Media & Public Engagement (selection)
- The Guardian — “How climate policies are becoming focus for far-right attacks in Germany” (April 2024)
- Der Spiegel — “Wie Klimapolitik für Konservative funktionieren könnte” (January 2025)
- Deutschlandfunk — “Wie man Konservative für Klimapolitik begeistert”(January 2025)
- WDR 5 — “Gibt es konservativen Klimaschutz?” (December 2025)
Journalism
Before starting my PhD, I used to work as a freelance journalist for various German Media Outlets including the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Süddeutsche Zeitung. I published more than 40 articles on issues like Brexit, the campaigns in the run-up to the German Federal Elections 2021, and contributed write-ups of prominent political science papers.
